ABOUT THE EVENT:
  • What will we be doing at this event? Industry leaders will host several workshops throughout the day, focused on different aspects of working in the cannabis sector. You'll attend these sessions to learn new job skills and about how different parts of the industry work. There will be breakfast, lunch, and snacks provided throughout the day, and prizes to win.
  • I already have a job. What will I gain from this event? This event will help expose you to different sides of the cannabis industry where your current skills may be utilized, along with providing some job skills you might not already possess.
  • Do I need a ticket for this event? Sign up below for event updates. When free tickets become available, we ask that you RSVP in advance, as space is limited. Some free tickets may be available at the door. ​
  • How old do I have to be to participate in this? You must be 19+ to attend this event.
  • Is this related to medical or recreational cannabis? Either. Canada's cannabis laws do not discriminate for purpose of consumer use. 
  • What if I have a previous record in cannabis from before legalization? Information about options and services available to you will be at the event.
  • Will there be samples or cannabis to purchase at the event? No, unfortunately not. Cannabis distribution and use will not be permitted at the event or on Humber grounds. However, other non-cannabis giveaways and food will be available.
  • I work for a community organization. How can our organization become involved in the event? Email the Cannabis Education Research Team at [email protected]
  • What if I have more questions? Please email the event organizers at [email protected]

ABOUT THE CANNABIS INDUSTRY:
  • Is cannabis a legitimate industry? Yes, over 150,000 people work in the legal cannabis industry in Canada.
  • Do I need to consume cannabis to work in the industry? No. Much like working in alcohol or lottery/gaming, employment in the cannabis industry is not necessarily influenced by your lifestyle choices.
