What is this research about?
The primary objective of this research project is to develop an evidence-informed base of information for cannabis consumers.
This information should be in a format that is easily understood in order to reduce potential harms resulting from frequent and long-term smoking of cannabis, or inaccurately dosing new cannabis 2.0 products.

Has research like this been done before?
This project represents the first concerted effort to develop a scientifically accurate, harm-reduction focused cannabis 2.0 public education campaign that is based on a human centred design approach, with synchronized materials for both consumers and retailers. By targeting consumers and retailers we can reshape the experience of both groups so that they are speaking the same language when they interact.

What are you going to do with my data?
We're planning to use the survey and focus group data to better understand how young people are engaging with the public education efforts put out by governments and non-profit agencies across Canada. We're going to analyze the data, and then use that to try and produce some new public education materials that we'll distribute online and hopefully in cannabis retail stores. Then we're going to see how well young people engaged with those new materials. We're not working for a cannabis producer or retailer, and we're not going to sell your data to anyone. The public education materials we create will be available via a creative commons license so anyone can use them.
Will I be able to see the materials you create using my data?
Yes! We'll be putting all the materials up on this website and distributing on other channels as well.
Are you making money off my data?
No. We're not benefiting financially from this project in any way.
Has this project been reviewed to ensure it complies with ethics guidelines?
Yes. This project has been approved by the Humber College Research Ethics Board, and has been assigned the research designator number RP-0394
Do you have any partners on this project?
Yes. We've partnered with Canadian Students for Sensible Drug Policy, a great student-led advocacy organization. We're also in the process of formalizing a partnership with two other non-profit organizations.
